What the XPC MSI installs on a Windows PC
A standard MSI, deployable by any RMM or software distribution tool, with no imaging step.
The short answer
What does installing XPC change on a Windows PC?
XPC ships as a standard Windows MSI package. It installs the XPC agent and the XPC shell experience, and registers the PC with your XPC Cloud Portal tenant. It does not replace the operating system, remove Windows components, or alter your antivirus, RMM, patching or domain configuration. Until XPC Mode is enabled for that PC in the portal, the machine continues to behave as a standard Windows desktop.
Deploy it the way you deploy anything else
Because it is a normal MSI, existing software distribution applies: RMM, Intune, Configuration Manager, Group Policy software installation or a manual install for a pilot machine.

Nothing is removed
Windows features, drivers, security agents and management agents remain installed and running. XPC adds a shell experience; it does not subtract from the platform.
Reversible
Disable XPC Mode in the portal and the machine returns to a standard Windows desktop. The package can also be uninstalled through normal software management.
